RHP Wins Division 9 CIF Football Championship against Santa Monica High School

Rio Hondo Prep won its 15thCIF Football Championship by defeating Santa Monica High School 29-27. The Kares found themselves playing in Division 9 out of 14 different divisions and having to compete against schools that were literally 20 times larger but they didn’t let that get in their way. They now enter the State Regional and will face Mission Oak High School Saturday in Tulare at 6:00 pm. Yes, like every game except for one, it will be on the road. It’s only the second time in the school’s history that the Rio has advanced to the State Playoffs in football. Win or lose, this team has cemented itself into RHP history…of course we plan to win just the same. You can see many of these same young men volunteering their time to help our Kare Youth League children each week.
